BARNARDVictorian sterling silver ewer, marks for Edward and John Barnard, London, 1859-60, hinged lid having an elaborate lily and leaf finial, a naturalistic grapevine handle, the spout with applied grape clusters engraved cartouche, and the lobed body adorned around the belly with cartouches enclosing repousse fruit and foliate decorations, on a round lobed footring with raised scroll ornamentation. Conjoined monogram, MMKW. 13"H, 28.225 oz troy total weight.
Condition:
Overall good condition with some unevenness to footring, some persistent tarnish, a 3/4" dent to side without monogram.

An American Belleek Type Ewer The delicately proportioned porcelain ewer measures apprx. 9-7/8"H with an onion shape bulbous body tapering neck flaring spout applied handle in the form of a serpentine twig marked in bright gilt by the decorator on the underside "F.M.F. 94". Hand painted with purple bearded irises and with silhouettes of other foliage the foot and the interior at the top in bright gilt and the handle in a combination of bright and matte finish gilt.

CONDITION
The ewer appears in good original condition. Minor rubbing to the gilt details. Minor surface scuffs to the body visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV shows no apparent signs of restoration or repairs.
