ELABORATE CERAMIC BORSCHT TUREEN BY ARTIST DAVID REGANLarge incised glazed white ceramic, with naturalistic motifs.
An intricately decorated, two-handled tureen with separate lid and platter. Profuse decorations of root vegetables, including carrots, radishes, potato and onions, mushrooms in black, brown, gray, tan, and other naturalistic colors. The stylized platter contains a rustic recipe for borscht in Cyrillic. By American artist David Regan (b. 1964), whose work has appeared at exhibitions in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; and Long Beach Museum of Art, Long Beach, CA. His ceramic wall tiles were featured on HGTV (2002). This wok was included in David Regan's One Man Show at Garth Clark Gallery in July, 1991. A copy of the invoice is included with the work.
