VERY SPECIAL 1966 FORD MUSTANG
VERY SPECIAL 1966 FORD MUSTANG VIN: 6T07C215151 Mileage: 100
Fresh from a recent refresh to the drivetrain, suspension, and interior upgrades performed by Petty's Garage in Level Cross, North Carolina. Receipts over six figures are present to document upgrades performed. The provenance of this car is thorough, as it was previously sold by us and upgrades performed with all documentation included. The original 289 cubic inch V8 was stroked to 302 cubic inches, and many performance modifications were performed. The block was baked and tumbled first before any work began. This motor was built to race with an aggressive cam, racing heads, fuel injection, and a beautiful hand made stainless steel exhaust from headers to tips. A Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, and beefed up rear-end put the power on the road. Power Brakes and power steering were added, and the front was reinforced for a new suspension system featuring coilovers and new brakes featuring drilled and slotted rotors. The rear retains the drum brake setup. A new fuel tank and American racing wheels with Continental performance tires were installed. The interior of the car was refreshed with Vintage Air air conditioning installed, new dashboard featuring a Dakota Digital/Analog gauges, tilt steering column, and steering wheel. The car was originally an automatic with a console. It received new carpet and padding, along with sound proofing material. The original seat covers were retained and the seats were rebuilt. New front and rear glass was installed with new rubber. A vintage looking stereo was added with new features and a pair of 6x9 speakers mounted to a new rear shelf.
This car was delivered to Hull-Dobbs Ford in Winston-Salem, NC in March of 1966. It was sold to a resident of Winston-Salem on March 28th. The original Ford dealership has been sold a few times, and is now doing business as Parkway Ford. Of note, the very first production Mustang, number 100211, was delivered to Hull-Dobbs Ford in 1964. A descendant of the original dealership's owners is a partner in the Corporation that currently owns the dealership. This car was built in Metuchen, New Jersey on Feb. 28th. It was equipped with a 289 cubic inch 2v V8 engine, C4 automatic transmission, and a 2.80 rear axle. It was also equipped with the luxury interior package with bucket seats finished in Emberglow/Parchment vinyl. The exterior paint is Emberglow. It appears the car has had an exterior repaint. The metal door plate, the body buck tag, and the VIN stamped on the fender match. The metal door tag does not have the original rivets, probably due to the repaint.
This lot subject to reserve. For this lot, payment accepted only by wire transfer. 15% Buyer's Premium for LLA live-online and absentee bidding. 20% buyer's premium for live internet bidding through a third party host. For winning bidders in NC, license plate and titling of vehicle will be obtained by Leland Little Auctions NCFL# 7452, provided all applicable fees and taxes are paid.

with a rebuilt 302 cubic inch V8 and C4 automatic transmission. The car was original a 6 cylinder car with 4 lug wheels, rear end, and drum brakes. It was purchased in 2015 and began a restoration for his wifes dream car. It had an incorrect 302 from a later Mustang, and it was rebuilt along with the C4 transmission. A V8 rear end with five lug wheels was sourced, and a donor front end from a Mach1 was sourced for a front end rebuild to include disc brakes. New 15" mag wheels with painted inserts were added with BFGoodrich tires. Everything was repaired or replaced.
As the body was sent to paint with an order to paint it Dupont Pepper Grey, the color of the car "Eleanor" in the movie Gone in Sixty Seconds. The finished car was darker than expected, and it appeared the paint shop used another brand of paint. The exterior of the car was repainted the correct Dupont Pepper Grey, with the jambs, engine compartment and trunk interior remaining in the darker shade. Both front floor pans were replaced at the time. The all Black interior was finished in all new products, and appears like new. The build was completed in 2018, and the ability to enjoy the car has escaped the owners. A modern digital radio has been added.
This lot being offered subject to reserve. For this lot, payment accepted only by wire transfer. 15% Buyer's Premium for LLA live-online and absentee bidding. 20% buyer's premium for live internet bidding through a third party host.
