COLLECTION OF TEN ORIGINAL CONFEDERATECOLLECTION OF TEN ORIGINAL CONFEDERATE UNIFORM COAT BUTTONS Includes four North Carolina buttons, two were manufactured by Wildt & Klein of SC with a crude NC state seal device on the obverse and a five-pointed star in the blank channel on the reverse (one has smooth surfaces and retains traces of gilt and a stand-up shank, while the second one is pushed in with plenty of ground action), two NC sunburst one-piece buttons, both buttons dug and lacking their shank, two Virginia state seal buttons, the first a dug pre-war example made by Scovill Mfg. of Waterbury, Connecticut (bent shank) with the second being a non-dug product of Mitchel & Tyler, Richmond (no shank), and four Confederate government issues to include a blockade-run CSA Superior Quality button made in England, a solid cast block "I" infantry button locally made, the face of a stamped block "I", and a fine, local block "A" artillery button with intact tin back.
