This revolver features a 7 1/2" long octagonal barrel engraved six shot cylinder, case hardened frame, under barrel ram rod, walnut grips, and silver finish trigger guard. The top of the barrel displays clear stamping reading "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY". The cylinder displays an engraved naval scene marked on the side "COLTS PATENT NO 25387 Engraved by W.L. Ornsby New York" and "Engaged 16 May 1845". The barrel, frame, cylinder, and trigger guard display matching serial number 25387 with the frame marked on the side "COLTS PATENT". This revolver has excellent mechanics and screws and has matching serial number, indicating a manufacture date of 1852. The Colt 1851 Navy was one of the most classic side arms of the Civil War and later in the Old West. Wild Bill Hickock was carrying a pair of Colt 1851 Navy revolvers when he was gunned down in Deadwood, South Dakota on August 2, 1876. The revolver shows good condition with some light wear due to handling and some minor wear on the blue'd finish. The pistol weights 2lbs 10oz. Serial Number: 25387. The firearm itself features a blued barrel and cylinder mounted to a case-hardened frame with a brass trigger guard and walnut grip panels. The revolver is in fine condition overall with some light pitting on the left side of the barrel near the forcing cone. The rifling is still in excellent condition as well as the chambers with no signs of corrosion. Lock-up is still good with a slight wobble and the cylinder spins freely.
