19th century three-story dollhouse, brownstone style, front exterior with door and working doorbell, eight inward-swinging windows opening to six rooms, hallway, four fireplaces including moveable piece in kitchen, furnished with period pieces including 20 pieces with old labels marked "Luis Conty" or "L. Conty", some with "1881", with contemporary base made as basement with two doors with fixed windows opening to two rooms with fireplace, both pieces wired for electricity, with copy of Miniature Collector featuring the restoration of the house, 93-1/2 x 47-1/4 x 28-1/2 in. total measurements. Exterior repainted to original color with lines added to mimic stone, replaced chimneys, interior repapered, original door curtains and rods, parlor fireplace replaced, two other fireplaces new additions, original wallpaper and floor coverings. Purchased by consignor in 1995; previous owners purchased house in 1974 on island of Madeira, Portugal at an auction in the city of Funchal; see article "Conty House Restored" in Miniature Collector , July/August 1997.
