Both hand painted over glaze the first 9.50'' diameter with panels of landscape and flora; the second and Edo period design with simplistic round center and heavy red accents 8.25'' diameter. Meiji Period. The bowls are in good overall condition with light wear throughout and each has a small chip to the rim.

A Japanese Glazed Ceramic Dish on Stand The deep Nabesuna ware bowl with a 3/4"H foot measures approx. 10-1/4"D, decorated on the inside with cobalt blue and brown in the image of two hares with moon sitting by the side of a pond, above which is an alternating stripe pattern in blue and brown. The exterior is half decorated with alternating stripes, and with foliage and one bat. The underside has a blue underglaze Fuku mark and incised cross and dots pattern. Paper label on the underside from "Nathan Bentz, Collector Chinese Art, Santa Barbara, Cal."
