North Carolina Chippendale chest of drawers, yellow pine throughout, very finely constructed, single-board case sides, original dovetailed bracket feet, traces of early red and black paint, attributed to Piedmont North Carolina, 1760-1780, 42 x 32 x 19-1/2 in. Good condition overall, brasses replaced, central skirt drop replaced, break and repair to one rear foot, one top side molding replaced, minor pest damage, minor patches and repairs to drawer lips, other wear and minor repairs. Deaccessioned from MESDA and Old Salem to benefit the Acquisition Fund.

Cabriole legs with pad feet scrolled apron with acorn drops and four overlapping dovetailed drawers in base with carved and blocked shell on center drawer. Top has six overlapping dovetailed drawers and molded cornice. Traces of old black paint brasses are old replacements. 70.5''h. 41''w. 20''d. Refinshed The legs are replaced. A small repair to one drawer corner along with a few surface scuffs on a drawer front.
