Northern European Cream-Painted Beechwood Settee, first quarter 19th century, the trisected back surmounted by three bulbous turned crests over a diamond-paneled rail with a pierced urn-form splat below, joined to the cushioned seat by downswept arms on bulbous uprights, the whole raised on circular legs ending in toupie feet, now upholstered in a sunflower design pocket weave brocade trimmed with French "icy coral" pure silk velvet, h. 34-3/4", w. 63", d. 21-1/2".

Suite of Six Northern European Painted and Distressed Beechwood Sidechairs, each with a shield-form back with a swag- and scroll-carved pierced splat, the padded seat raised on fluted, tapering square legs ending in peg feet, now upholstered in Italian "Dalmatian" chenille tapestry fabric, h. 37-1/2".

Georgia historical desk and bookcase, highly figured mahogany veneers throughout, removable cornice, two gothic glazed doors opening to fitted and adjustable shelved interior, three dovetailed drawers with poplar secondary, one signed "W.J. Northern", fold-down writing flap with probably original leather, single long drawer over two paneled doors opening to shelved interior, shaped skirt, American, circa 1830s, 83 x 43-1/2 x 20-1/2 in.; accompanied by two keys. Old refinishing with surface wear, separations and abrasions, brass pulls replaced, minor cracks to glazed doors, other veneer chips, cracks and abrasions. Accompanying documents indicate that this desk was owned by Georgia Governor W.J. Northern, who served as governor from 1890-1894. He purchased it from a Dr. Connell during the Civil War; by descent to Northern's grand-daughter; Brick Store Antiques, Gainesville, Georgia; purchased from the above by David Williams, 2006; Estate of the Late David C.
