NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP OF A PLAYFUL LESSON, 'DAME IM SPIEL MIT KINDERN'NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP OF A PLAYFUL LESSON, 'DAME IM SPIEL MIT KINDERN', German, dated 1968, blue painted crowned CT monogram and year mark, impressed Bavarian shield mark, incised 1004, after the Frankenthal group by Johann Peter Melchior of 1784, depicting a young maiden holding two flutes away from two children, on a stepped rocky mound base, together with a Hoechst style figure of a gallant, spurious blue wheel mark, after a model by Johann Peter Melchior of circa 1765, depicted standing in pink jacket, yellow vest and yellow breeches, on a grassy mound base, h: 7.75 in. (2) Johann Peter Melchior (1747-1825) was the Modellmeister at the Hoechst porcelain factory in 1767-1779. He later worked at the factories at Frankenthal (1779-1793) and Nymphenburg (1797-1822).
