A SIOUX OR ARAPAHO BEADED POUCH CIRCA 1890The lazy stitch beading on sinew in blue, white and white-heart red is accented in light green, some of which is lost from one side, it retains an unusual rawhide tassel with beading.pouch measures 4.5 x 2.75 without the 7 inches of beaded fringe.Good condition noting losses along one side as seen in the images, thread reinforcements.Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.

U.S. Army Infantry Mexican War
U.S. Army Infantry Mexican War Shell Jacket of Edward O'Brien ca 1840s. Kersey wool jacket from the Pennsylvania Volunteers - possibly from Westmoreland County Pennsylvania. Welted pocket set horizontally on the outside. This is probably a private purchase jacket. Lead buttons with eagle and patriotic shield bearing the letter I.. Three matching buttons on each sleeve with beige and red chevrons on both sleeves. Interior with red and beige cotton lining that is partially detached from the body of the jacket. The consignor relates that this is his Great-Great Grandfather's Mexican War Jacket (Edward O'Brien Born in Pittsburg October 10 1823) and that he was a member of the ''Irish Greens'' - a volunteer unit from Pittsburg area. Later in his career this soldier fought in the Civil War with the 134th Pennsylvania Volunteers as a colonel.This jacket was on the Antiques Roadshow and the appraiser valued it at $10 000. The lot comes with an affadavit from the Great-Great Grandson. Condition: Top button on jacket is missing. Second button from the bottom is mis-shapened. Nominal mothing. Very good.

(sight), in 19th century gilt wood cushion-molding frame, foxing, toning, some dampstains; frame with abrasions, losses to gilding; oak split egg basket, scattered blue weavers, 6 in., with 12 lacquerware eggs in the Russian style, tradition of being painted in Winston-Salem in the 20th century, many with cracks and losses.
