Overbeck Pottery Figures American Indiana 1930s. Polychromed earthenware figures of a lady and gentleman in 1830s dress with incised inscription written on their bases reading ''1836 Cambridge Indiana 1930'' and stamped with the Overbeck mark; ht. of lady 3.75 ht. of gentleman 4 in. Overbeck Pottery began in Cambridge City Indiana in 1911 by sisters Margaret Hannah Harriet and Mary Frances Overpeck (actual name; they changed one letter). Each piece produced was arts and crafts pottery and one of a kind. Prior to 1937 pottery was typically artware - bowls candlesticks vases and tiles. After Elizabeth Overbeck??Ts death in 1936 Mary Francis focused more on animal and people figurines than on vases. Overbeck Pottery ended in 1955 with the death of Mary Frances.

Edward VIII abdicated after one year in order to marry the American divorcee Wallis Simpson, the couple as later styled \"The Duke and Duchess of Windsor\".
