Painted cast iron lawn jockey,
Painted cast iron lawn jockey, jockey-form hitching post with outstretched arm, red, white, gold and black paint, heavy iron construction, probably late 19th century, 49-1/4 x 25 x 13 in. Surface with old repaint, possible weld repair at joint of feet to base, bit in jockey's outstretched hand possibly replaced, scattered paint losses, wear, pitting, rust, corrosion and surface dirt consistent with age and outdoor use.
