PASTEL PORTRAITS, MR. & MRS. PRITCHARD, 18TH C.A very good pair of late 18th century pastel portraits set in elaborate gilt frames. The lady being that of Sara Pritchard (nee Fitzgerald, d. in 1855, at 94 years of age), also a member of the noble Leinster family of Ireland. Note: a long and regal history regarding the Duke of Leinster can be found online adding perspective to the portrait. The man being her husband William Pritchard, at one time official of the Admiralty court, and a vestry clerk Doctor's Commons. 20.75" x 16.5" each.
