ATTR. BOHLIN BLACK & SILVER CONCHO PARADE SADDLEAttributed to Edward H. Bohlin, black leather saddle, carved floral pattern embellished with heavy gauge silver tone conchos. Includes decorated breastplate and tapaderos, conchos across the cantle and skirt. Engraved 'Roy' on front and rear, Rigging Dees and 'Cuba' on placque on skirt in back. Included is an aluminum stand (34"H x 24"L x 20"W). Saddle measures 28"L x 20"W. Provenance Cuban Museum, Coral Gables, Florida.

The work was done by Hank Kluin of?Burgess and Company Red Bank N.J. Hank passed away at an early age about two years ago; he was considered the premier Cavalry equipment historian and leather smith. His items are truly tomorrow's museum pieces today. He made all the accessories for this saddle. He made the 1885 saddle bags M-1887 carbine scabbard with brass throat the picket rope and hardware girth all straps poncho feed bag and blue and gold saddle pad. Condition: Very good to excellent.

CHARLES SHIPLEY LADIES SADDLE WITH SPECIAL CAMBY TREEThe fine example with special camby tree sporting a stitched horsehide pocket with flap on each side also has a padded seat, puffs, trims and other embellishments in fine brown horsehide with stitching. The beautifully designed saddle with full leathers is stamped with the Shipley maker's mark each side, numbered 240 and further marked HEN 10-1-51.Measures approximately 16 inches from the base of the horn to the inside edge of the cantle.Very good to fine original condition, there are no issues of damage, wear, or repair.
