Unusual Continental darning sampler, eight rows of letters and numbers stitched at top above two rows of damask pattern darns, finely stitched floral, architectural and animal spot motifs lower three rows, "MD." stitched within a floral and leaf cartouche bottom center, silk on linen, Continental, probably Dutch, 18th century, 21-1/8 x 22-1/2 in. (sight); later wood frame. Fading, scattered holes and repair to top proper right corner. Estate of the Late Wyatt W. Childs, Barnesville, Georgia.
