American Printed Chintz, 1892, in "Columbian Exposition" pattern, produced for the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, planned for 1892, but finally opened in 1893, the overall pattern features the landing of Columbus, portrait wreaths of George Washington and Hendrik Hudson, stars with the states' names and Exposition medallions, retains a Watson and Boaler printed card presentation box, h. 48", w. 23-3/4". Provenance: Charles J. Watson, Chicago; Watson and Boaler, Chicago (until 1941).
