COPELAND PARIAN GROUPINGA fine parianware grouping known as 'Paul & Virginia', England, circa 1846, showing a young woodcutter handing a nest full of chicks to a young peasant woman, both seated on a naturalistic base inscribed COPELAND on the reverse. Condition noted, minor loss to one finger on right hand of Virginia. Measuring 12" high x 11.5" wide x 5" deep. This was one of the earliest pieces of parianware made.
