RARE TREACLE GLAZED POTTERY PENNY BANKSScotland circa 1880, also known as 'Pirley Pigs' the smaller example showing the glazed earthenware figure of a seated cat with a vertical coin slot on its back, minor chips, measuring 3.75" high, together with a larger 'flat back' example having a horizontal coin slot on the reverse, minor losses to base & one ear, measuring 4.75" high. Both likely from the Rosslyn Potteries in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.
