A rare Art Deco figurine modeled by artist Leslie Harradine as the Pied Piper of Hamelin, decorated in an usual lustre of yellow, red, green, brown and black. The Pied Piper legend dates to the Middle Ages, the earliest references describing a rat-catcher dressed in multicolored ("pied") clothing who was a hired by the town to lure rats away with his magic pipe. Stamped to base.
