group of three porcelain pink vases with gold and black details, comprising of: a,b) of ovoid form, with a circular base, two handles formed as black dragons with gold gilt details and wings, each scene is featured in a cartouche surrounded by ornate gold foliate and floral scroll, with a gold border. one scene features is a wedding the other a baptism, the verso features a bouquet of grass, all against a light pink ground; overall height: 35 cm (13 3/4 in.)
c) of baluster form with a tapered neck and carved base, two handles formed as black figure eights with gold gilt details, centered scene featured in a cartouche with foliate and floral gilt gold scroll details, verso features a bouquet of wild purple daisies; overall height: 44 cm (17 3/8 in.)
CONDITION
In age-appropriate condition. Overall rubbing to gilt details, resulting in loss of gilt revealing the white porcelain. Visible loss of paint to all four black dragon handles, loss of paint to the gold rims of each vase. Surface scratch to wedding scene measuring in 5.1 cm (2 in.). One of the black dragon handles has been repaired with an adhesive, leaving a small hairline crack, which is visible to the naked eye. Interior of vase with wedding scene and figure eight handles appears to be chipping and peeling of paint. Inspection under UV shows retouching to the figure eight handles.
