An early 18th century pollard oak eight day longcase clock the 12 inch square brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring subsidiary seconds and date aperture signed Peter Mallet London 7ft Estimate ?1 000-1 500 Overall in good clean condition restored within the past 10 years or so case with a high polish and signs of some restorations to some veneers some of which looks to have been replaced notably a few sections to the left hand side of the trunk door. Plinth foot is a later replacement dial in good clean order movement equally in good order and appears to have recently been serviced with new cat gut movement sits on a board that looks like a replacement and certainly adapted and altered to fit the uprights of the case was going happily in property although not tested or guaranteed now in the saleroom. Comes with pendulum one lead and one brass cased lead weight. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports.
