A Continental Porcelain Oval Snuff Box The exterior of the box hand painted on the lid, sides and underside with peasants engaging in leisure pursuits, and the interior of the lid is well painted with a scene of Diana at her bath while Actaeon observes from behind a tree. It has gilt metal mounts around each rim. No maker's marks found. Measures approx. 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" x 2"H.

A porcelain rectangular snuff box base probably Meissen late 18th century finely painted with insects and flower sprays gilt interior unmarked 2.75in. Estimate ?150-200 There is a tiny firing crack to the top edge on one side of the box which can be seen as a feint hair crack extending 2 - 3mm into the glazed body there is some where to the enamels on one corner beneath and some scratching consistent with age obviously lacking mount and cover. Chinese blue and red underglazed porcelain soft-paste box and snuff bottle kangxi blue six character mark, 19th century The circular soft-paste box cover is decorated to show a scholar and his consort among ruyi clouds and rock work, the snuff bottle is decorated with a red dragon. Box Dia: 3 1/2 in. Wear and condition consistent with age and use. 1/ 4 in. chip to lower rim, minor scratching to lower surface, 1/8 in. chip to base. Overall in fair condition.

A Rare Continental Enameled Snuff Box Of rectangular form with canted corners, approx. 3-3/8"W x 1-5/8"D x 1"H, with engraved borders, cobalt blue basse taille enamels over scrolling engraving, with white borders and with oval reserves on the front, back and lid, minutely hand painted with scenes of cherubs in various activities. The most prominent scene is of a cluster of five cherubs at sea riding on the backs of dolphins, with an inner border of inset seed pearls. Possibly Swiss, ca. 1820.

TWO ANTIQUE CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN FIGURAL SNUFF BOXES The first a German porcelain snuff box modeled as the head of a Turk, the hinged cover painted with a maritime scene to the interior, possibly late 18th century, with blue crossed swords mark (2 7/8 in.) (gilt metal mount and cover are detached from head, shallow old flake to edge of neck); the second in the form of a bearded man with crown (possibly Neptune), attributed to Samson of Paris, with blue crossed swords mark, likely mid-19th century and modeled after an 18th century Meissen example, with engraved gilt metal hinged cover (3 in.) (some wear to painted "hair," some chipping to points of crown, gilt metal mount likely re-attached).
