Brun", the reverse of the plate with a green transfer-printed Sevres date ellipse for 1837, a pale blue crowned Louis-Philippe cipher and the date 1844, a rouge de fer Chateau des Tuileries medallion and a gilt Paris retailer's mark of a plumed knight's helmet, dia. 9-1/2".

(sight); modern wood frame. Loose, toning, minor foxing, stains, soiling, creases, 10 in. separation at right, two 1 x 1-1/2 in. horseshoe-shaped losses, 3-1/2 in. tear in margin, other tears, repairs, reinforcements, backed with archival tissue to stabilize, "23" in ink verso (probably period); frame with abrasions. TWO ARMORIAL PORCELAIN PLATES One large platter, white ground with blueish hue, gilt rim and quartered shield to the border, four images within, including floral sprig, rampant lion, armored arm with sword, and the side of a castle, 5-point crown at top. Impressed on the underside,"8 / II / 55", 1 ½" x 12 ¾". Second plate with border having cobalt blue acanthus leaves outlined in gilt, with gilt rim and on the border is a griffin head with a key in its mouth and three half-moons on it's body, a stag's head, and a greyhound above a banner with the motto "Fidem Parit Integritas", otherwise unmarked, 1" x 8 ¾".

C.1844 LOUIS PHILIPPE SEVRES
C.1844 LOUIS PHILIPPE SEVRES FONTAINBLEAU PLATE FRANCE,CIRCA 1844A fine and rare Sevres porcelain plate from the initial order of the "Service Ordinaire de Fontainebleau" ordered by King Louis Philippe (1773-1850) for the Chateau de Fontainbleau. The plate is decorated with a central roundel with pierced spearheads and scrolled tendrils within a Greek key decorated well. The rim of the plate is intricately decorated with an arabesque foliate and tendril design with diamond medallions of the royal cipher and ovoid medallions with royal emblems separated by naturalistic enameled hunting dogs with prey, deer, and eagle with serpent. The underside of the plate exhibits two molded bands with incised inscription between them, the blue Sevres Louis Philippe monogram mark within the smallest center molded band dated "1844", and the iron red "Chateau de F. Bleau" mark with stylized "de". The plate was designed by Jean-Charles Fran?ois Leloy (1816-1844). A rare museum quality example, not a common Limoges or later copy.
