Franklin Pierce Indian Peace Medal Silver approx. 76.13 mm dia. ?2328 grains.?The obverse features a high-relief bust portrait of Pierce and reads Franklin Pierce President of the United States around the small date of 1853; the reverse shows a settler instructing an Indian flag behind and reads Labor Virtue Honor above. Holed at the top for suspension with added chain. Signed obverse by Salathiel Ellis signed reverse by Joseph Willson. Condition: Few rim dings.
