CHINESE CELADON AND RUSSET JADE RABBIT Chinese celadon and russet jade rabbit, the recumbent rabbit carved with its ears pressed flat against its back, the stone is of an even gray tone with a intermittent russet inclusions, 3"l. Provenance: Property from the estate of Patricia Moffat Pope, San Francisco, Ca. Patricia married George A. Pope Jr. in 1959 and together they built a Thoroughbred horse racing empire that included 27 stakes winners in the United States and in Europe. Among the many races that they won include the 1962 Kentucky Derby.

A Carved Ivory Ornament of Rabbits, 20th Century The naturally arched shape is carved with the image of six rabbits raiding a garden, with black and aubergene color rubbed in to the crevices to accent the shapes, applied black bead eyes. Overall the ivory measures approx. 10"W x 1-1/2"W x 3-1/2"H and is temporarily attached to a wood base with floral cling, measuring approx. 10-3/4"W x 2-3/8"D x 1"H. No maker's marks found.
