Note: The firm Osler and Co, was highly regarded throught the 19th century. They took part in most of the international exhibitions in London and Paris, the massive fountain in the central court of the Crystal Palace in 1851, being one of their best known productions. They had a retail outlet in Calcutta from the last years of the century and large pieces of furniture and chandeliers were very popular with maharajahs and other rich Indian clients. An identical table to the present lot is illustrated in John Smith's book on Osler, published by Mallet.
Condition
Wear, large chip to the base. The top has been reglued. Otherwise in good condition.
