This cup features a frieze border of oak leaves and acorns, central frieze depicting a dog, horse rooster, cow and a cat. With a city stamp of London, maker's mark of Omar Ramsden, and a date letter of 1929. Total approx. weight is 7.11 troy oz (gross). from a Manhattan, NY estate. Dimensions cup measures approx. 3" in height. Condition: Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. This cup bears a monogram.

Sold with two additional silver works, including one unmarked covered trinket dish with an agate cabochon and silver parcel-gilt interior and one shagreen weighted vessel by Louis Willmott, c. 1907. Inscribed to underside of covered trinket dish ‘Marion Winslow Coye Jan-Feb 1928’. Impressed maker's mark to interior of Willmott example ‘LW’ with English hallmarks and inscribed to base ‘Callow of Mount St W’.

WIDTH 7.75".BRASS "T-FRAME" QUINTANT BY JESSE RAMSDEN, London, Circa 1793, Signed "Ramsden London" on the cross-bar and numbered 1147 on the reverse side. Inset silver scale reads from 2 to 147 degrees. With a 5.125" radius arm with tangent screw and clamp, handle, three brass feet, and an assortment of lenses, eyepieces and other fittings. Within its original mahogany box. An old label in the box instructs "To correct error of division in centering add 1' every 10 degrees.". The fine use of brass, when many other instruments were still being made in ebony, and the quality of workmanship mark this instrument as the work of a master craftsman and inventor. CASED EARLY 19TH C. BRASS TELESCOPE BY JOHN BERGE OF LONDON, WITH TABLETOP TRIPOD All Original Kit, including a 26 1/2" + 3" main tube having a 2 1/2" objective, screw on 9" cog adjustable eyepiece, engraved on top "M. Berge, late Ramsden", (so circa1800-1808), with folding tripod, in the original fitted mahogany case, 4" x 31" x 7". Very good condition, two dents in top of large tube, optics look good. A note from Philip W. Pfiefer of 'Le Cabinet Scientifique', 900 Madison Ave, NY reads: "A three inch refracting telescope on stand, signed Berge, late Ramsden, in its original fitted mahogany case. John Berge was an apprentice to Peter Dollard in London from 1756 to 1773. He remained in his employ until 1791 when he joined Jesse Ramsden. He became chief workman until Ramsden's death in 1800 when he took over the studio and ran it until his death in 1808."
