CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN DOUBLE HANDLED VASE AND COMPOTE, CA. LATE 19TH CENTURY French molded porcelain vase; urn shape with wide mouth, mask handles. Reserves front and back, hand painted polychrome foliate decoration, finished with gilt, high gloss glaze. Marked on the bottom, iron red overglaze in French: "et feint/entrainement a la main/for le Galle a Paris". Overglaze blue cipher/ and gilt obscured mark. 6 ?" x 5 ?". Austrian molded porcelain compote with short trumpet base, shallow rolled bowl, integral handles, intense cobalt blue with raised enamel decoration, finished with hand painting of a raven haired beauty. Bowl finished with raised and flat gilt decoration. Marked underneath, underglaze blue behave mark, and overglaze red in circle: "Alexandra Porcelain Works Turn Austria" and 59 31 T/ B13/ D.94 and incised 5931/1". Measures 6 ¼" x 9 ½".
