Large redware bowl, tapered body with flattened rim and visible turning rings, spotted green and orange glaze, probably American, 19th century, 4 x 16 in. Rim losses and chips, interior surface losses from extensive use, no repaired cracks, three rim creases as fired. Deaccessioned from MESDA and Old Salem to benefit the Acquisition Fund.

A Famille Jaune Footed Bowl Hexagonal shape shallow bowl atop a round waisted base apprx. 7-1/8" x 7-1/8" x 2"H with gilt rim vivid yellow-green border with blue and red will painted scattering of images in the well on white background sprays of pink flowers on the outside blue and red key fret design around the base iron red mark on the underside. Images include root vegetables bats strawberries poppy pods etc. delicately painted in polychrome enamels. Probably Qing era 19th century.
