A CHINESE ANCESTOR PORTRAIT 19th century, ink and colors on paper, an older woman seated in a sedan chair covered with brocade textile, she is dressed in a formal court robe and embroidered vest over a red ground robe with golden dragons, her vest has a white bird rank badge to the center, she wears an elaborate ruyi collar and ornate hat with blue kingfisher feathers and pearls handing down either side of her face, her expression is passive and her head appears much smaller than her body, professionally framed with mat, not examined outside of the frame.
