Housed in a reticulated gilt Impressionist frame with linen liner, OS: 7 1/2" x 7 1/2", SS: 2 1/4" x 2 1/2". Good condition. Includes provenance, receipt and letter from Hammer Galleries dated July 19, 1973, from Frederick Seligman confirming the painting is genuine.
One of the leading lights of French Impressionism, drawn to the more colorful, bright and feminine aspects of Parisian culture, Renoir stands at the end of a line celebrating beauty that descends from the eye of Rubens.
