Condition:
Overall very good condition with old patina. A few very minor areas of pitting and some minor errant flecks of white. Base with some wear, light losses and scratching.

New York 1986 p.85 and Art et Decoration VI 1889 p.186. There is a 0.25 - 0.5 inch loss to the tip of the angels left wing the tips of the feathers on the angels wings have some fritting and matt to them it is possible they have been retouched although the iridescence in the glaze matches very well so it is possible this may have been done in manufacture there is a 0.25 inch narrow area of wear to the leading edge of the left wing there is some wear and abrasion to the glaze on one of the diagonal ribs on the corner of the base there is some slight wear and abrasion to the glaze on the very corners of the plinth base there is a fine craquelure to the glaze all over the piece beneath the foot the glaze has run and pooled and there are some slight glaze losses probably where it sat on the bottom of the kiln there is also an incised numeral 2 beneath.
