McCord as partial payment for "one hundred and seven negros [sic]", Columbia, South Carolina, November 20, 1863,4-3/4 x 8 in., minor tear at one corner ; manuscript list on lined blue paper, "Slaves bought from Ms. Louisa S. McCord by James M. Rhett", including 37 individuals by name and age, 12-5/8 x 8 in., wear and minor holes at folds ; receipt partly printed specifically for use in slave trade, "Columbia, S.C., March 2, 1863", for sale of "Seven Negro Slaves named Casar, Catherine, Flora, Ben, Stepney, Dora and Sue" to Charles Rhett for $7,250, 4-1/2 x 8-1/2 in., 1/4 in. chip out of left edge , with attached newspaper notice for same sale.
