JOHN RIDGEWAY PRINTED POTTERY PLATEA John Ridgeway printed pottery plate in the unusual "Giraffe" pattern (1836-55), the central scene depicts two men and three giraffes in the foreground, and tents in the background. The scene is taken from a coloured lithograph dated 1836 which shows giraffes destined for London Zoo. Printed mark to bottom "Published Aug 30th 1836, Agreeably to the Act, Stoneware JR "GIRAFFE". Diameter, 10".
