  RARE W&J RIGBY 80-BORE NEEDLE FIRE ROOK RIFLEwith octagonal barrel, engraved with scrolling foliage and signed in gothic script on a ribbon on one side. Wm & Jn Rigby, Dublin marked on top of barrel. This Rigby and Norman rook rifle is made prior to August 1865 given the address on thebarrel. 269 patent use number marked under barrel, the breech and on loading lever. 40 1/8" long, 24" barrel. Some light indentation, scuffing to wood, some scuffing to barrel, discoloration to metal on buttplate, metal fitting at end offorestock has a chip, trigger guard has a small edge chip. Provenance: Property from a Fairfield County Estate. Condition: Auction buying is wholesale and not the same as retail store or retail internet buying. There are no returns based on condition. The next shows a little less than half a box of Norma Primer CCL-250 .416 Rigby rounds of ammunition. There are three full boxes of Federal Premium Safari .416 cartridges. The last is a full box of Remington premier Safari Grade .416 cartridges. The condition of this collection of ammunition and scope shows good condition of the ammunition the .416 CAL Rigby ammo is a little less than half full and one of the .416 CAL Monolithic Solid rounds is missing from the box, with the other three cases complete; the scope looks to be in good condition. The measurements of these ammunition boxes range from 3 3/4" x 6 1/8" x 1 3/8" to 8 3/8" x 3 3/4" x 1 1/2" and the scope measures 13 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". The collective weight of this collection is 12lb 2oz.

  1798 JOHN RIGBY IRISH FLINTLOCK PISTOL: Late 18th century marked Rigby on sidelock crown over GR proof marks and dated 1798 on barrel. Unique carved stock with unusual carved stag head protrusion over cast brass figural bird buttplate. Stock is carved above ring as well. This pistol appears to be a specially commissioned piece as it is far more ornate than the usual Rigby gun. Action works. 12'' barrel 18 3/4'' overall.CONDITION: Note typical pitting on barrel at hammer.
