Auguste Rodin changed the expected Classical pyramid composition and lack of heroic allegories for a representation of six barefoot prisoners with ropes around their necks who walk to hand over the keys to the city of Calais to the King of England. Heavy green patination. A. Rodin inscribed to center of the piece.
Dimensions: 28"L x 18"W x 25.5"H
Condition:
Age related wear. Black marble base has cracks in two places.
