He is dressed in luxurious robes of exotic animal pattern with pearl jeweled sleeves wearing a flat crown, he holds a jeweled orb and scepter. The gilt background painted with an incense vessel, a double-handled vase with a sheaf of wheat, an eleven light candelabra, a flag or rectangle of red and blue-black vertical diagonal with a white border, the bible, and chalice. Celebrated by Eastern Orthodox on the Feast Day, April 16. The banner unfurled by the archangels Gabriel and Michael reads, "????? ?? ?????????, ????? ? ???? ??????????, ?? ????? ?? ???????. (Hail, from whom alone sprouted the unfading rose, the sweet?smelling apple.)
