A white horse stands outside a small abode hut, the linen and gilt frame with numerous hand-written notations to verso including title, "South of Taos, New Mexico; Rio Grande Rancho", and the artist's stamp restricting reproduction of the work, as well as a later notation in pencil simply reading "Mr. Buck, Sold".
