ENGLISH REGIMENTAL DRUMS: Two painted brass body, rope-tension Regimental side drums. 1) The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) British Army side drum with their regimental badge emblazoned front and center flanked by battle honors. The Royal Scots having been the oldest infantry regiment of the British Army. 2) 1st Battalion The Royal Fusiliers replica drum with the badge emblazoned front & center flanked by battle honors. Each measures approx. 15'' h x 15'' w.
CONDITION: Light paint loss. Oxidation to brass. Wear to drum skins and tension ropes commensurate with age. Fusiliers drum has faux drum skins and faux leather adjustment tabs at the tension ropes.

The regiment was created under the Childers Reforms in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot and 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot.

The Royal Dublin Fusiliers created in 1881 and disbanded in 1922. With their badge at front center within clover wreath and battle honors banner. Indecipherable maker's mark impressed at brass topped by small crown. Both measure approx. 15.25'' h x 14.75'' w.
