A Russian Enamel Silver Spoon, Moscow, ca. turn of 20th Century In a traditional floral Pan-Slavic pattern in vivid enamels on a silver stippled field. Gilt washed bowl. The twisted handle has a band of enamel decoration, terminating with crown finial. The spoon is hallmarked with silversmith's initials "DH" (in Cyrillic) and with a Moscow Kokoshnik mark before 1908, "875" and "Lion passant". Measures approx. 7-7/8"L. Approx. 2.086 troy oz.

The underside with Moscow city marks, an 88 zolotnik silver standard, dated 1881, and with an assay mark of Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky. The small spoon with an elaborately twisted handle, enamel decoration along the underside of the bowl, and an inscription in Cyrillic along the interior of the bowl. Marked along the stem with an illegible maker's mark and an 88 zolotnik silver standard.
Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Condition:
The bowl and spoon are in excellent condition; no visible chips, cracks, or dents. Both items show light wear throughout; no visible loss to enamel.
