US Pre-Civil War Connecticut
US Pre-Civil War Connecticut Militia Shako Shako has the Connecticut state shield and infantry horn with the letter C for Company C. Connecticut's militia variant of the common M1851 dress cap prescribed under the state's 1856 dress regulations. New York retailer John A. Baker worked at the 162 Fulton Street address from 1853-1858. An identical Company C.. specimen is housed in the Smithsonian Institution collection. The cap is also well documented in ante-bellum photography. Condition: Very good; all leather shows some crazing and age wear.

Heath / in / Recognition of 48 years service / with / Southern Pacific Company / by / Officers and Crew of Str. "El Capitan" / January 31, 1918." Marked on base, "Shreve & Co / Sterling / San Francisco / 7277 / Base Loaded." Dimensions: 11.5"h. Together with a cased daguerreotype of Capt. Charles R. Heath. Captain Heath is listed in the 1910 Crocker-Langley San Francisco Directory as "Charles R. Heath, master mariner, SP Co., Ferry Bldg." The El Capitan was a steamer operating in the San Francisco/Oakland/Vallejo area. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. 10 PCS SCHOFIELD BALTIMORE STERLING SILVER REPOUSSE HOL...Ten (10) pieces of Baltimore Silversmith Mfg. Co. sterling silver repousse hollowware including two (2) compotes, four (4) small bread plates, three (3) medium plates, and one (1) large tray, all in the same unidentified pattern featuring rose, strawberry, grape and vine, and c-scroll decoration. All monogrammed "CLR" in centers. Six (6) pieces with maker's marks and six (6) marked "sterling, handmade". Sizes ranging from 3 1/2" H x 6" dia to 12" H x 16" W. 99.75 Total troy ounces. Note: Baltimore Silversmiths Mfg. Co. was founded by Frank Schofield. The name was changed in 1905 and eventually, the company became known as Schofield.
