Engraved with scrolls and banners; engraved in banner on the left side of barrel is U.S. Air Force; on the cylinder is engraved four stars on each of the flats; engraved in a banner on the left side of frame above triggerguard is 18 Sept 1947. Black ebony-style grips with silver engraved medallions with the initials USAF. On the bottom of triggerguard is engraved USAF008. Condition: Revolver has been re-nickeled and engraved.

The edges of the frame are bead blasted instead of bright blue. Rear sight lacking white outline. Weight is 44.5 ounces (avoirdupois). This was done to tame hot commercial loads like supervel, popular in the 1970's. Published data places the year of manufacture at 1978.
