2 ANTIQUE RUSSIAN BRASS SAMOVARS: 2 Early 19th Century brass Samovars, one with a paneled body, having ceramic handles. Lid has a Cyrillac inscription. One with a barrel shape, probably made by Batashev or Voronstov factories. Largest Approx. 21'' h x 15.25'' l @ spout x 14.5'' w @ handles.
CONDITION: Tallest missing lid, small indent. Other, has repair to spout handle, scattered indents, appears to have been dropped.

VICTORIAN RUSTIC TASTE COPPER HOT WATER POT, 1880S Victorian Rustic style copper hot water heater/pot on a stand in the form of bark and twigs, the pot with branch form handle and spout, the lid with enameled finial, the underside of the lid marked "Warranted Best London Manufacture." 14.5" H (overall) Note: Fine samovars in in silvered bronze and copper were made throughout the Victorian period with the "Warranted Best London Manufacture" mark.

B. MEDVEDEV, TULA BRASS SAMOVAR, 19TH C B. Medvedev Factory, Tula, a large brass samovar, period of Alexander II Nikolaevich (1855-1881) of typical barrel form, the front engraved in Russian "Tula / the year 1878 / B / Medvedev" (Ket lacking) 17.5" H x 10" W x 11.5" D Note" Tula, Russia, was well known in the 19th century as the preeminent city for the production of samovars. There were dozens of firms which specialized in Samovar production, and no fewer than 4 bore the name "Medvedev." Samovars by Peter, Ivan, Alexander, and the current example "B[oris]" all produced fine examples in the second half of the 19th century.
