Joseph Margulies (Austrian/American, 1896-1984), "French Grandmother"; etching; 9 1/4" x 7"; pencil signed, numbered ed/25, and titled lower margin. Rockport Art Association label verso. *Born in Vienna, Margulies became a distinguished portrait and landscape painter as a resident of New York City. Guebsch, stating the artist gave her this painting in 1945, which she gifted to Dr. & Mrs. Charles M. Sayre. It was painted in the artist's Genco, IL garden.
