With 6 associated Satsuma plates, each 7 1/8"-diameter. Crazing, minor losses and scratches to decoration on all; flake to rim of one cup.

A Set of Twelve Months of the Year KinkozanA Set of Twelve Months of the Year Kinkozan Satsuma Plates Japanese 20th Century Finely decorated in polychrome each depicting one of the twelve months of the year featuring each month with different figures each with a different kimono and surrounding trees or flowers. Painted on soft white ground with fine gilt edge impressed mark with pigment and gilt on the underside also marked on the underside with the abbreviation for the month in gilt.

Early Japanese Satsuma ware potteryEarly Japanese Satsuma ware pottery cabinet bottle and vase. Both are elaborately painted and gilt with figural scenes and florals. Ivory colored ground with a heavy cobalt glaze. The bottle is signed on the base with Kinkozan family mark. The two pieces are sold along with two modern hand painted Satsuma plates or low bowls. Condition: very minor wear to gilt rims on early Satsuma pieces see images. Both cabinet pieces measure approximately 3.55'' tall. Dishes measure 5.6'' wide. Shipping weight 1.3 lbs.UPDATED 10/16/12: Changed ''Japanese characters'' to ''Kinkozan family mark''.
