A Chelsea saucer dish mid 18th century typically painted with floral bouquets with unusual black line rim unmarked 8.5in. together with a Chelsea bell shaped cup c.1756 with unusual wishbone shaped handle painted with floral bouquets and sprays red anchor mark and decorator's mark '24' 2.5in.; cup a.f. Estimate ?200-300 The dish and cup are mentioned in the valuation accompanying the Chelsea teapot. Saucer dish has a good ring to it some minor scratching and scuffing to the glaze and enamels underside of the dish has a 4cm long glaze crack which does not appear to show through to the other side there is some minor shallow chipping on the inside of the foot rim in one area which has been overglaze in manufacture and other typical minor firing imperfections. The cup has been broken in three sections and re-stuck the crack is stained and very visible with some splintering to the glaze around it. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports.
