Gilt spine with five raised bands. Savage-Landor was a well known and popular writer and latter day explorer. He traveled and wrote some of the most important turn of the century works about a number of areas just beginning to open up across the globe. Books written by him are now becoming quite scarce in first edition format and collectable state.

Mr. Tate was born October, 1763 on the ocean voyage from Londonderry, Ireland to America to parents Samuel "Rock" Tate and Elizabeth (Caldwell) Tate. He was later married to Elizabeth (Alexander) Tate and resided in Pennsylvania until his death in 1849. Housed in a tiger maple frame.

SAVAGE MDL. 24S-A COMBO GUN, .22 WMR & .410 GA The classic camp gun made by the Savage Arms Company. The gun features a blued finish to the barrels with largely faded "casehardening" finish to the receiver. It has smooth varnished walnut for the handguard and buttstock. The sights are a simple u-notch and post with the leafspring rear sight being adjustable for windage and elevation. The barrels are configured with the .22 magnum mounted above the .410 gauge with the selector for which to fire mounted on the hammer. The gun is in overall good condition with the only damage being a chip taken out of the toe of the plastic buttplate. No S/N, Caliber: .22 WMR & .410 GA (3" Chamber), LoP: 13", BBL: 23 1/2", OAL: 38."
