A Rare Savannah Cast Iron
A Rare Savannah Cast Iron Cauldron mid-19th c. marked "Weed and Cornwell Savannah" "No. 10 8 Gall" "Pocasset" flared lip ribbed body handles and peg feet. Note: Weed and Cornwell operated a fancy hardware store in Savannah selling sundries and coffee. They are mentioned in Confederate Civil War letters published as a group by J.H. Easterby c. 1944 titled "Captain Langdon Cheves and the Confederate Silk Dress Balloon".
