FRENCH INDUSTRIAL WINDMILL AUTOMATED CLOCK Attributed to Guilmet, circa 1885. Bronze case on a marble base in the form of a windmill displaying the time on a silvered dial with additional displays of barometric pressure and multi-temperature reading thermometers. The clock movement goes eight days with a platform escapement timepiece movement. The vanes of the windmill turn continuously for several hours quite engagingly. They are powered by a separate automation movement located within the base, which is wound through the small door in the front. The silvered bronze case is in the form of a windmill displaying the time on a silvered dial with additional displays of barometric pressure and multi-temperature reading thermometers. The clock movement goes eight days with a platform escapement timepiece movement. The vanes of the windmill turn continuously for several hours quite engagingly. They are powered by a separate automation movement located within the base, which is wound through the small door in the front.

FRENCH INDUSTRIAL ANIMATED WINDMILL CLOCK Conical form, the front is mounted with 4 windmill blades rotating clockwise. The mid-section has a textured surface resembling a stone structure. The front center shows the round silvered 2 in. dial of the timepiece under a aneroid barometer with thermometers on either side. The lower base has a smooth brass finish and is accented with 2 faux windows and a trap door in between, which reveals the wind for the animated mechanism and all over a black marble platform base.

A Carved Wood Whistler Clock The 14-1/2"H x 6-5/8"W x 2-5/8"D automaton is carved wood with polychrome painting. It depicts a man in a slouchy suit and top hat, whose head moves at the neck leaning on a post with a Swiss chalet clock. The clock winds with one end of the winding key and the whistler with the other. Clock ticks, but is not guaranteed to keep time. Whistler whistles. Stamped on the underside with a logo "KenD" in a diamond shape and "made in Germany".

A Neoclassical Chain Driven Chronometer Movement Clock ca. 1810-1820 The face in white enamel with both Roman and Arabic numerals under a circular domed glass apprx. 2-3/4"D surrounded by a laurel wreath and with an urn with chains on top. Set on a rectangular base on a fluted column with four turned feet. Seated on the base is a figure of a bewigged gentleman holding a spade and a branch. on the other side of the base his hat sits atop a large watering can. There are two turned posts at the back of the base. The works are visible through a domed glass door at the back engraved with "Fremy"..." A Paris".

An Unusual Automaton Novelty
An Unusual Automaton Novelty Clock The small metal birdcage is in an oxidized finish. It contains a feathered bird and a pillar at the center with a ball at the top and an ivory color band around the middle with numerals and marks. A red pointer circles around to indicate the time. The cage is suspended from a hoop stand with a tiny angel at the top holding the ring inset in a cast glass base with a slightly pink tint. Overall it measures apprx. 8-1/2"H. So far the bird does not chirp.
